New Music Friday: ‘Katy Perry,’ ‘Lupe Fiasco,’ ‘Jamiroquai’ & More

"Chained to the Rhythm" is the newest single off Katy Perry's forthcoming album (unnamed fourth studio album). She will debut the song at the 59th Grammy Awards, which airs February 12th at 8:00pm/5:00pm ET/PT on CBS.

Lupe Fiasco's newest album dropped today and is available on all streaming services. DROGAS Light is the first release off the Chicago-rapper's label 1st and 15th, and features Ty Dolla $ign, Rick Ross and BIG K.R.I.T. among others.

The album exemplifies Lupe's artistic growth and self-reflective attitude with its storytelling lyrics and bare vocals. Check out the Drogas Light teaser trailer.

With last month's explosive "Automaton" drop, Jamiroquai burst back onto the music scene after a seven-year absence. Now, the British funksters have released "Cloud 9," their first single off their hotly anticipated album, Automaton.

"'Cloud 9' is a song that's written in the style that I hope people know us for and are familiar with," said Jack Kay, Jamiroquai's producer. "It's a song that if anyone that has been jilted and yet found love somewhere else will no doubt relate to."

Automaton comes out March 31st, via Virgin EMI.

Independent recording artist Bridgit Mendler returns with "Temperamental Love" featuring rising hip-hop star Devontee. Described as "heart wrenching" by TheFader, Mendler and Devontee form a duet that's easy on the ears while still hitting close to home. Check it out.

"Ovation" is the first single from Plaitum's upcoming debut album Constraint. Weaveing cold, metallic samples with a longing chorus and rousing hand claps, "Ovation" is chopped and skewered into something far more visceral and sweaty than the average pop song about sex. Constraint comes out April 7th across all digital formats.
