San Diego! Join ‘Remember Me Thursday’ For Orphan Pets

helen woodward animal center, remember me thursdayHelen Woodward Animal Center, in partnership with Blue Buffalo (and sponsored by Embrace Pet Insurance, KONG, California Bank and Trust, Westfield UTC, Dirty Dogs, Lamar and Sydnees Pet Grooming), invites San Diego animal-lovers and animal welfare organizations to participate in the 4th Annual Remember Me Thursday® at a very special candle-lighting event.

Next Thursday, September 22nd, pet-lovers and animal rescue groups around the world will create an unstoppable, integrated voice advocating for orphan pets to live in forever homes, not die waiting for them, through social media postings and grassroots events.   Helen Woodward Animal Center encourages the community to get involved by attending Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Official Remember Me Thursday® Candle-Lighting at Balboa Park on 6th Avenue (between El Prado & Juniper; near Nate’s Point Dog Park), Thursday, September 22, from 5:45-7:00PM.

Now in its fourth year, Remember Me Thursday® has been supported by 164 countries with hundreds of thousands of individuals and more than 500 separate animal welfare organizations around the globe holding candle-lighting ceremonies of their own, spreading the message on social media, or lighting a virtual candle.  The enormous swell of celebrity support has resulted in the topic trending on both Facebook and Twitter, garnering more than 500 million social media impressions.

Each year, Remember Me Thursday® grows in support with larger numbers of candle-lighting ceremonies and special events being organized around the world, including the San Diego events listed below:
