Chris Rock hit the 88th Academy Awards' opening monologue out of the ballpark. If you thought he wasn't going to address the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, you thought wrong. His witty and intelligently written speech addressed everything, including Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith's notorious boycott.
The clever writing continued throughout the night, from Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe's hilarious presentation banter, to Sarah Silverman's painfully honest introduction to Sam Smith performing Bond theme song, "Writing's On The Wall."
Oscar producers certainly shuffled this year to bring lighter moments to the 3-hour telecast, such as Rock's fundraiser for his daughter's Girl Scout cookie drive. If there's one thing we learned, you can raise a hell of a lot of money when you get multi-millionaire actors, producers and directors all in one room.
