Los Angeles Mission Christmas Celebration To Benefit Families Of Skid Row

Every December, the Los Angeles Mission hosts an annual Christmas dinner for families of Skid Row. Lines wrap around the block, as families receive a gourmet meal, toys, shoes, and health care. The organization feeds over 3,000 people on Christmas. This year’s event will be held on Friday, December 23rd at the mission: 303 E. 5th Street (Corner of Fifth and Wall St.), Los Angeles, CA 90013.

The event offers real relief for families and children through the generous donations of thousands of toys and goodies.  Hundreds of Mission volunteers from the entertainment industry, politics and the community show up to share their love.

Top Los Angeles chef, Ben Ford, will create the recipes for this special holiday feast.  He works with the Los Angeles Mission kitchen staff to prepare the entire menu for the Mission’s Christmas feast for the homeless. Meal preparation will begin at 4:30am in the Mission's kitchen and service will start promptly at 11:00am.

At 11:15am, the Festival of Children Foundation will open their “Sharing the Spirit Holiday Party Tent.” This 2,000 square-foot winter wonderland will be where Santa Claus distributes thousands of age-appropriate toys and goodies to waiting children.
