Ratings Report Card: ABC’s ‘The Muppets’ Trumps FOX’s ‘Scream Queens’ & CBS’ ‘Limitless’

Network ratingsIt's the big premiere week for Fall TV in the primetime slot. Looks like ABC had the lead over CBS and FOX. 

In Adults 18-49, “The Muppets” was the highest-rated fall comedy debut in 1 year – since ABC’s “black-ish” debuted as the No. 1 new comedy last fall out of “Modern Family” on 9/24/14. 

Self-starting at 8:00 p.m. without a network lead-in, Kermit and Miss Piggy opened as the season’s No. 2 new show in Adults 18-49 (2.8/10) – behind only Monday’s big “Blindspot” premiere out of “The Voice” – pacing well ahead of its Tuesday series debut competition, with a 75% advantage over Fox’s 2-hour “Scream Queens” (1.6/5 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.) 

At 8:30 p.m., ABC’s second-season premiere of “Fresh Off the Boat” matched its highest-ever Tuesday delivery in Adults 18-49 (1.9/7). “Fresh Off the Boat” was up from its Tuesday premiere in February by 12% in Adults 18-49 (1.7/6 on 2/10/15) and topped ABC’s year-ago comedy debut in the half-hour by 46% (1.3/4 for “Manhattan Love Story” on 9/30/14).

CBS's new drama "Limitless" saw an OK premiere on Tuesday as the network's most watched new series while building on its adult 18-49 lead-in, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sept. 22.At 10PM. The show averaged a time period winning 9.76 million viewers, 1.8/06 in adults 18-49, building +6% on its "NCIS: New Orleans" lead-in (1.8 from 1.7) and 2.5/07 in adults 25-54.
