Gone Too Soon: Robin Williams Dead At The Age Of 63 Years-Old

Robin WilliamsShocking news reveals that the greatly admired Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at the age of 63 years-old.

A statement issued by his publicist Mara Buxbaum said, “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

The Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office have confirmed the cause of death as “asphyxia due to hanging.”

Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider, issued the following statement: “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

The number of memorable roles Williams is known for are endless. “Mork & Mindy,” “Good Morning, Vietnam,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Good Will Hunting,” “Aladdin,” “Mrs. Doubtfire.” These are just a few of the films that Williams brought to life with his incredible show-stopping talent as a comedian and actor. Williams recently signed on to reprise his role as Mrs. Doubtfire in a sequel that was to be directed by Chris Columbus. 

He was nominated three times for an Academy Award for Best Actor and received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Good Will Hunting.” Wililams won two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards. 

Golden statuettes aside, Robin Williams is a remarkable icon. No one will ever compare. His memory will live on.
